We are looking for highly motivated individuals interested in learning
the skilled trade of glass artistry.
No previous experience in the glass artistry field is necessary;
however, the ideal candidate typically will typically have a strong
background performing tasks on the job or as a hobby which
require them to work with their hands for long periods of time (e.g.,
painting, drawing, sculpting, pottery, welding, fabrication, etc.)
Our staff will personally train all new hires in the art of
lampworkingOnce a glass artisan is completely trained, they are
expected to work 40 hours a week making beads; however, expectations
for Glassbaker artists are not primarily set upon hours, but instead
the number of beads (charms) they produce.
We require our artists to be consistently working towards the goal of
producing 500+ beads a week.
Learning how to make our wonderful products requires a lot of patience
and time on your behalf. The reward of an artist's hard work and perseverance through the
training period begins as soon as they meet our standard requirements
and have begun producing quality glass beads, which allow them to earn
a substantial income on a bi-weekly basis from their own home.
The initial training period for new artists typically lasts from 3 to 6
weeks. To be considered you need to be able to devote at least 30-40
hours a week during the initial training period when you begin.
Training sessions take place in our Marietta studio, near the intersection of Shallowford Rd
and Canton Highway. The more time you can dedicate towards coming to the studio and training,
the faster you will be able learn this wonderful art. Typically your income during training is
low, but you will be compensated for any buyable beads produced.
Once training is complete you are given the opportunity to work from home. Making the transition
from our studio to your home is much easier, but you should still spend
at least 8-16 hours a week here at the studio learning the art of
making glass beads. The more time you can invest the better.
The biggest commitment new artists must make to Glassbaker is the time they put into the
training process, because it's very hard to learn the skill in a short amount of time. Practice, patience,
guidance, and perseverance are all key factors to proper training. Once
you learn the skill, and begin to work from the comfort of your own
home, you will soon realize just how rewarding being an artist with
Glassbaker can be.
